All activities have three modes of operation, Goal, Practice, and Custom. These modes affect the order of drills, the content, and whether or not progress is credited.
Think of goal mode as the test you must pass to record
progress. Progress is only credited in goal mode.
Practice mode can generate many more random drills based
on the activity, time signature, and selected
step. You may also skip to or repeat any level and follow the sequence
of drills from that point. However, practice drills do not count toward
your level of mastery shown on the Progress page.
Custom mode retains drill settings that you create. The
time signature, length, and rhythms included do not change until you set
new options. Click the Next button to generate new drills based on your
settings. Use Custom mode for extra practice in areas of weakness or to
create ever more complicated random rhythms. see also Custom
