Scale Degree Names

Notes can be named by their letter name, their solfeggio a system of naming scale degrees with singable syllables, do re mi fa so la ti do syllable, or by their scale a group of pitches arranged from high to low covering one octave degree number. Solfeggio names can be related to the key signature, as in moveable "do", or by fixed "do" where the note C is always "do" for any key signature.

The solfeggio syllables provide singable names for scale degrees or notes.

This setting is made automatically whenever you start a new objective see MusicGoals Terms or new level. To alter the automatic setting, change this setting after you have set up all other options.

When the check box is checked, the setting chosen becomes the setting for all new student files. For example, as a teacher you may want all your students to start with the "Fixed do" setting. For this to happen, just open a MusicGoals file, Main Menu - Pick a Drill - Instrument Note Names. Then use Practice Settings - Scale Degree Names - Solfeggio to open this dialog box. Make your selection and check "Make this the default setting for new students" and press OK. This will not affect existing student files. New Students will find your selection in their student files.
