With Guitar Staff Reading you must play the note you see on the staff. The "Hint" button shows the notes to be included. The notes are color coded to the scale degrees similar to solfeggio syllables - do re mi fa so la ti. This shows notes of G Major / e minor in first position. The dot shapes show the octave, for example, G3 a triangle - three sides, G4 a square - four sides.
Learn the staff position for each note by clicking on the staff or the fingerboard. You will see each note displayed as you play. When ready, click "Begin" to test yourself. At the end of the drill you will be given your score. Adjust the tempo slider to speed up or slow down the drill.
The "Custom" button cycles between " Goal", "Practice", and "Custom" . In " Goal" mode you progress through each level in order and must pass each level to move ahead. In "Practice" mode you may start at any level. In "Custom" mode create your own level by adjusting the key, note set, range, drill length, clef, and instrument and/or tuning.
Other activities are similar. First experiment to see, hear, and learn the material, then press begin to test yourself.
