All activities have three modes of operation, Goal, Practice, and Custom. These modes affect the order of drills, the content, and whether or not progress is credited.
Think of goal mode as the test you must pass to record progress. Progress is only credited in goal mode.
Practice mode can generate many more random drills based on the activity, time signature, and selected step. You may also skip to or repeat any level and follow the sequence of drills from that point. However, practice drills do not count toward your level of mastery shown on the Progress page.
Custom mode retains drill settings that you create. The time signature, length, and rhythms included do not change until you set new options. Click the Next button to generate new drills based on your settings. Use Custom mode for extra practice in areas of weakness or to create ever more complicated random rhythms. see also Custom Settings
